I am a Postdoctoral Associate in the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. I earned a Ph.D. in sociology from Syracuse University in 2024. As a spatial demographer and medical sociologist, I study population health, geographic disparities, and the environment and natural resources. My scholarship seeks to use a political economy approach to understand how geographic disparities in health and mortality emerge and become exacerbated through the natural environment, socioeconomic contexts, and other spatialized forces. I use advanced quantitative methods such as causal mediation analysis, generalized additive models, and Bayesian statistics to answer these interdisciplinary and policy-relevant research questions. My work has been published in Population and Environment, Socius: Sociological Research for a Dynamic World, Journal of Rural Health, Journal of Applied Gerontology, American Journal of Public Health, Journal of Rural Social Science, and Preventive Medicine Reports and as research briefs at the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion and Population Health.Â
