Sam - Me a runner?
Me, a runner...? No way!...
Yes way thanks to the almighty welcome I received one cold February evening 6 months ago. It took me a year to pluck up the courage to just try it! I needed something that helped with my anxiety, lose weight & get fit! Some time out for just doing something for me. I’ve spent the last 8 years bringing up my twins and with not exercising. I’m not built for running I’ve always told myself but really wanted to give it a go!
With the support, encouragement & guidance of the coaches and other runners I’m going from strength to strength and was so proud to have completed the Barry 10k. It’s not easy and every run feels like it’s the first one but the buzz of being out in the open air and sense of achievement I feel after every run is so powerful and i can honestly say I am hooked. Being part of Ystrad Runners has made me feel part of a team and I look forward to seeing everyone on club night. I’ve got a long way to go until I reach my goals but I’m happy it’s with all the lovely people in group, I’ve made some lovely friends and glad they are sharing part of my journey.
