University of Udine
Dr. Ali Ghiami Shomami is a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Andrea Melchior at the University of Udine in Italy. His research focuses on the application of density functional and wave function-based methods to design and optimize photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy. His main research interests are AI-driven drug and material discovery.
Queen's University Belfast
Anna Romani is currently working on her doctoral thesis within the “TIMES” MSCA/UKRI network node of Queen’s University Belfast (CQMT research centre). Her project is titled “Nonlinear optical response on out of equilibrium system by TDSE, MBPT and NEGF”.
She performed her Master thesis in Leiden Institute of Chemistry (LIC) in “Role of surface phonons in heterogeneous catalysis on Ru(0001) and Ag(110)”.
Humboldt Universität zu Berlin
Caja is a second year PhD student working in the SOLGroup at the Humboldt University Berlin. Her research work is based on the investigation of the two-particle Green’s function in the particle-particle channel, and the development of effective interaction kernels for the investigation of Many-Body methods.
École Polytechnique
Carlos is a PhD student in Physics at École Polytechnique. He specializes in Quantum Monte Carlo calculations for crystals, studying how to improve the accuracy of simulations for electronic systems. He has a Bachelors in Physics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Master in Physics from École Normale Supérieure.
Universitat de València - ICMUV
Jorge Cervantes-Villanueva is a PhD student in the MAGMA group at the University of Valencia. His research focuses on the characterization of excitonic properties in van der Waals materials, both at equilibrium and out of equilibrium. At equilibrium, he works within the DFT+GW+BSE framework, while out-of-equilibrium phenomena are studied using the equation of motion of the density matrix, with particular emphasis on the simulation of pump–probe experiments, as implemented in the YAMBO code.
Universitat de València - ICMUV
Josep Mas is a third year PhD student in the MAGMA group at the university of Valencia where his research focuses on the electronic and optical properties of novel magnetic materials with special interest in code and theory development. His approch to these descriptions is founded by menas of ab-initio calculations, mixed with group-theoretical methods to obtain effective k·p symmetrized Hamiltonians for the description of the electronic structure of crystals, with an in development extension for excitons, interfacing with the YAMBO code
Humboldt Universität zu Berlin
Kshitij Sinha focuses on the development and application of advanced computational methods in DFT. Currently, he targets the generation of high-precision datasets and implementations within hybrid exchange-correlation functionals and lattice dynamics formalisms for accurate materials modelling in the exciting code.
