Dr. Ying-Jun Quan is the first graduate directly appointed to a prestigious European university as a professor based solely on his domestic experience, without any overseas postdoctoral experience. The University of Twente, one of the top three technical universities in the Netherlands, was ranked 72nd globally in mechanical engineering according to the 2023 QS World University Rankings. Additionally, it achieved the first position in the Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure category in the 2023 THE World University Rankings. During his degree program, Dr. Ying-Jun Quan, under the guidance of Professor Seonghoon Ahn, researched the fabrication of flexible metasurfaces and structural color sensors using advanced precision processing techniques such as focused ion beam and nanoimprint.
DR. YINGJUN QUAN WON THE "YOUNG RESEARCHER AWARD" AT PRESEM 2023
Dr. Ying-Jun Quan from our department's Innovative Design and Integrated Production Laboratory (supervised by Professor Ahn Seong-Hoon) won the "Young Researcher Award" at the International Conference on Precision Engineering and Sustainable Manufacturing (PRESM 2023), held in Okinawa, Japan, from July 16th to 21st, 2023. PRESM annually awards the "Young Researcher Award" to young scientists under the age of 45 who have outstanding achievements in the field of Manufacturing, after a rigorous evaluation process.
