I just received a You've Been Flowered! bouquet. Now what do I do?

To keep your arrangement fresh, snip a 1/4" from the stems and change the water daily or every other day (cool water is best!). Discard any blooms that are wilted as bacteria in the water will cause the remaining foliage to die more quickly.How can I "pay it forward"?
Once your blooms have passed--if you are so inclined--we would love it if you would recycle your container and stick/tag, create a bouquet with flowers/greenery from your backyard, and leave it (anonymously) on someone's doorstep!
Where can I find flowers if I don't have a yard?Backyards and gardens are not the only source for flowers and greenery. Wild flowers, grasses and small branches that grow on the side of the road or in nearby fields make great bouquets too. Variety is nice, but often a container filled with one kind of foliage is just as beautiful as a mixed bouquet!
If I make a bouquet who can I give it to?Anyone (and everyone) can use a smile! Ideas include:-an elderly neighbor who isn't able to get out much or who doesn't have many visitors-someone that is caring for a sick family member-the single mom who is juggling work and kids-any "frontline" worker-school teachers and administrators-therapists-a friend who is going through a rough time-go random and give it to a stranger! Try to keep it anonymous as part of delight is not knowing where the flowers came from and also so that no one feels obliged to reciprocate.I don't have time / a flower garden / the know-how, money, etc. How else can I "pay it forward"?
Our goal is to keep this a no-cost endeavor. We are always in need of glass vases and jars (any glass container--about the size of a spaghetti sauce jar or larger--is perfect). You, or someone you know, may have some lying around collecting dust. If so, email us and we would be happy to come and get them!Can I have a bouquet/arrangement delivered to someone?
We are not a delivery service but under certain circumstances we might be able to get a bouquet to someone local that needs an uplift, so feel free to email us.
Where do you get the flowers?
Most come from the backyards of friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers. Like the vases, we are always looking for free donations. Please contact us to arrange pick up/drop off of your fresh cut flowers.
Where are you located?
The founder of this movement (who wishes to remain anonymous) resides in Lunenburg, MA. Through our growing network we have been expanding into surrounding Central Massachusetts towns. It will be wonderful to see how far this goes!
How else can I get involved with the "You've Been Flowered!" movement?
In addition to helping us source containers and flowers, we need people to help with any of the following tasks: prepping the stems, assisting with the bouquet-making process, attaching the card tags, packing boxes for distribution, and distributing the finished bouquets. If you are outside the Lunenburg area, consider creating your own social group and replicate what we are doing.
