What is the Core Team?
Core Team is a group of adult volunteers who collaborate with the youth group coordinators (Nancy Trinidad & Angel Machado, respectively) to run youth group nights smoothly.
Core Team Members can support the ministries in a variety ways- help is needed behind-the-scenes, as well as with working directly with the youth. A Core Member’s most vital role is to be a witness of God’s love by serving and accompanying teens as they explore the Catholic faith and develop a relationship with Jesus Christ. Your presence is so much more valuable than you might realize! Fruitful youth ministry requires a team of people with diverse gifts and experience levels. You DO NOT need to be a theologian, an entertainer, or the life of the party to help teens know that they are seen, known, and (incredibly) loved by God and called to be in profound, life-changing relationship with him. You DO need a love of Christ and a desire to bring teens closer to him.
A strong Core Team will feature a variety of personalities, talents, and interests.
However, our expectations of all Core Members are that you…
Have a personal commitment to God
Make it a priority to attend Mass weekly and pray daily o Are fully initiated in the Catholic faith (Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation), or working toward initiation
Believe in the teachings of the Catholic Church (and seek to develop trust in the Church’s wisdom and authority regarding teachings that challenge you)
Have a desire to share your faith and positively influence youth
The time commitment for being a Core Member includes:
