Administrative and Political Map of Sokoto State, Nigeria.
K.F.Nwosu produced this hallmark output during the intensive YouthMappers GIS Marathon. This project involved creating a highly accurate, scaled political map of Sokoto State, Nigeria. The objective was to modernise regional spatial baselines, correct administrative boundary displacements, and enrich local data platforms with critical Points of Interest (POIs). By identifying and digitising local infrastructure, including vital healthcare facilities, educational institutions, traditional markets, police stations, residential areas, scrub and road infrastructures. This initiative transformed a standard boundary map into a functional, data-rich resource for regional navigation and resource allocation. Full quality
Flood Risk Map of Shomolu, Lagos State, Nigeria.
This Work displays the spatial distribution of flood risk levels: Low (green), Medium (yellow), High (orange), and Very High (red) over an aerial photograph of the Shomolu area. By analysis, the majority of the area, specifically 71.1%, is categorised as having a Medium flood risk, covering 7,021,674.8 square meters. The High flood risk category accounts for 21.4% of the area, while the Low risk category is 7.47%. Asakitikpi David authored the map and uses the WGS 1984 UTM Zone 31N spatial reference system.
