Hi, I’m Angelica Navarro, but most people call me Gecz (Jex). I’m originally from the Philippines, now based in Dubai, and I’ve been passionate about sports for as long as I can remember. But it was in 2023 that I truly found my stride — when running became more than just a hobby. It became a goal, a discipline, and a lifestyle.

My first official race was the Dubai Canal Run 2023, where I ran a 5km in 35:18. I still remember watching the awarding ceremony and turning to my friend to say,
“One day, I will stand on one of those podiums.”

That moment lit a fire in me. I started tracking the finish times of the top runners and set them as personal targets. In June 2023, I joined a night race during the Dubai summer — and that’s when everything changed. I crossed the finish line as 1st Place Overall Female. My first podium finish. That race didn’t just validate my goal — it reshaped my journey.

Now, I’m not just running for myself. I’m passionate about helping new and beginner runners discover what they’re capable of — because I know what it feels like to start from scratch, to dream big, and to chase that dream step by step.
