The ITG Plan allows you to lose weight with minimal effort compared to most other diets that require buying all sorts of different foods and ingredients and following complicated recipes. With the convenience of ITG proteins, you have the option of keeping it very simple... or get creative if you like.
Step one starts you out on your way to healthy weight loss by using the ITG protein foods as a basis of 3 out of your 4 meals each day. It provides you with the correct amount of healthy protein necessary to protect and maintain your calorie burning muscles all while you burn your stored fat. You follow this step until you have reached 100% of your weight loss goal.
Step two is the key to your weight loss stabilization success. You will slowly re-introduce moderate amounts of fruits, fats and carbohydrates to your diet each week for 4 transition weeks. This allows your body to re-adjust to producing the correct amount of insulin needed and helps you keep those unwanted pounds off.
You continue to eat the way you've been taught. You have achieved your weight loss goals, rested your pancreas and have learned to eat and maintain your new healthy weight by choosing healthy foods and a balanced diet. You will now be on 100% whole foods and have learned about living a healthy lifestyle with the knowledge to maintain a healthy weight. Your coach will continue to support you and, of course, you can still have some of our proteins for healthy snacks. Your coach has several helpful documents when you get to this step.

The typical American diet consists of processed foods—refined sugars and starches such as bread, pasta, potatoes, snacks and sweets, etc. The pancreas must constantly pump out insulin to take care of all the sugar (or glucose) that makes up these foods to regulate your blood sugar levels.
From the minute that carbohydrates are consumed, they are broken down into glucose in the bloodstream and then whatever is not needed immediately for energy is converted into fat and stored. Eating a diet that is full of these processed foods or a high-carbohydrate diet, forces the pancreas to work overtime and eventually can lead to insulin resistance. When a body becomes insulin resistant and produces excess insulin, it results in a drastic drop in the blood sugar level (hypoglycemia), and thereby leads to sugar cravings. More sugar is consumed, and the cycle starts over leading to excess fat storage and yes, excess weight.
