Australia Day party broken up by police

Police were called to stop an enormous boat party in a Sydney stream and discovered individuals were 'assembling excessively close together'.

An enormous gathering on a stream in Sydney's south was separated by police on Tuesday evening.

The Australia Day slam in the water off the Sutherland Shire suburb of Lilli Pilli drew the consideration of police who went to in their own vessel.

"They were drinking liquor and assembling excessively intently together," a NSW police representative said.

There were no captures or fines gave.

"We shut down the gathering and they all moved along," the police representative said.
