Young Writers for Democratic Action is a committee of politically focused high school and college-aged writers. We believe in working for a more unified political climate, country, and world. We fight censorship in all its forms. We defend civil liberties: the right to vote and have our votes counted, to gather and protest, to write and read, and to access learning that informs and enriches the lives of citizens. We work to shed light in dark times and empower our generation to join the practice of democracy. We believe in the power of unity to bring clarity in times of confusion, to amplify silenced voices, and to spark hope.
