YoungSupraChem-Symposium
Würzburg - 22.–23. March 2027
Würzburg - 22.–23. March 2027
Welcome
We are excited to announce the 1st YoungSupraChem Symposium, a new platform for scientific exchange for early career researchers in supramolecular chemistry in Germany.
Our inaugural Symposium will take place on 22.-23. of March 2027 at the Center for Nanosystems Chemistry (CNC), at the University of Würzburg.
With this new format, we intend to complement the biannual SupraChem conference series, with a dedicated focus on scientific exchange and networking for early career researchers (especially Master's students, PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and non-tenured junior PIs) in supramolecular chemistry. With the help of a board of "YoungSupras" we have tailored this event specifically towards the interests of younger researchers with ample time for discussions, networking and exchange about career development. The event is limited to ~65 participants in total.
Registration and Abstract Submission
Registration Opens: 16.11.2026 (preliminary; registrations will be subject to approval)
Registration Closes: 14.02.2027 (or when all places are taken)
Abstract Submission Deadline: 17.01.2027
Due to generous financial support from the German Chemical Society (GDCh) and the Fachgruppe Supramolekulare Chemie, there will be no registration fees for the symposium.
We strongly encourage all participants to present their research as a poster or oral presentation, including ongoing projects. Abstracts and posters will not be made public. A limited number of travel stipends will be given to oral presenters. For all oral presentations priority will be given to Master's, PhD students and Postdocs. Non-tenured junior group leaders are welcome to attend the conference, participate in panel discussions, poster sessions and flash introductory talks, but will not have priority for talks or travel stipends.
Further details regarding registration and abstract submission procedures will be announced here in the near future.
Programme
Our programme consists of two poster sessions, research talks by early career researchers, a method workshop by Prof. Dr. Frank Biedermann on binding constants, "Insight" talks about career in publishing and industry, and a panel discussion related to career development. The event will be held in English.
