Springing into Kindergarten (PreK-4)

Kindergarten is around the corner! What better way to end the year than a jumpstart to Kindergarten? This 6-week session will put your child a step ahead on Kindergarten Readiness Skills while having fun! Students will review letters, letter sounds, and numbers through games and art. We will also practice skills such as rhyming, shapes, colors, and more!

First Steps to First Grade (K)

First Grade is around the corner! What better way to end the year than a jumpstart to First Grade? This 6-week session will put your child a step ahead on First Grade skills while having fun. Students will review math and writing skills through art and games. Students will also work on reading comprehension and more! We will even have a visit from a few First Graders to tell your children what exciting things they will get to do in First Grade!

Creative Cooking (PreK4- 3rd)

Students will get to explore cooking in fun and exciting ways. Creative cooking combines tasty treats, simple recipes, and literature! Each class will explore a different recipe, based on a children’s book. Students will look at books in a fun new way as they explore new recipes and stories at the same time!

SCS Little Garden Club (Pre-K4—2nd)

This fun, hands-on gardening class is a great way to wrap up the school year! Students will learn all about plants, insects, and ways to take care of a garden! They will bring home something to add to their own garden each class. Students will get to plant seeds and watch them grow through God’s Goodness. What a perfect way to start Spring!

Buggy for Art! (Pre-K4– 1st)

Explore the world of insects through the works of Eric Carle. Your children will read a different Eric Carle story about insects each class- The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Grouchy Ladybug, and so much more. Eric Carle is known for his illustrations and they will inspire your children to create wonderful works of art while learning about insects!

Reflective Movement and Meditation (2nd-7th)

Wind down from a busy day of school in a calming and soothing class! Explore fun themes through quiet and reflective meditation and movements. In this class, students will learn to be present and mindful during meditation and stretches. Children often have trouble quieting their bodies and minds to hear God in their hearts. This class will help children realize the benefits of meditation, while relaxing their minds and bodies to reflect on their day. Our hope is to create a space that gives students time for quiet meditation while still being able to have fun with their peers. Meditation mats will be provided.

Building and Board Games! (K-4th)

Students will have the chance to build and play collaboratively with Legos and learn how to play different board games and get to play with their peers throughout the class! Kids LOVE board games and enjoy learning new games to play with their friends. Give them the chance to learn to play some new hands-on games and take a break from those pesky video games! Sorry!, The Game of Life, Guess Who?, UNO, Chess, Checkers, Monopoly, and so many more! An extensive Lego collection will also be available for adamant builders who can save their designs and add to their creations each class!

Students will learn how to decorate high-end cookies for Easter, Spring, and Summer! They will learn about different techniques and how to create different effects with icing.

Builders: Problem Solvers (PreK- 3nd)

Put on your thinking caps because we have problems to solve! Students will figure out ways to solve the problems of story characters through creativity and building. They will get to explore literature in a fun way during this S.T.E.A.M. centered class. Build bridges, make parachutes, get your truck through the mud, and more! Join us and this will be just one of the many problems we will solve in this class!
