Young Medical Minds volunteers facilitate students in their learning as they go through the hands-on workshops included in the program. Volunteering with us has numerous benefits as you will obtain leadership experience, have opportunities to learn about the medical field, meet professionals, and build networking connections.
The program is split into two sections a year with the first section running from September to October and the second from January to February. Each section is composed of six sessions, with one each week. Generally, the volunteer sessions are about three hours long and take place on Thursday evenings usually from 6:00 pm - 8:30/9:00 pm, except for the last sessions of both sections. It is expected that if you want to volunteer with the Young Medical Minds program, that you will be able to attend all of the sessions. In addition, volunteers will need to adhere to the requirements of Alberta Health Services Volunteer Resources.
