Here is my story, I wanna hear yours!
Hey there — I’m Jey Young, host and founder of the Young Dad Podcast. I became a dad at 22, and, like many young dads, I didn’t have a clear playbook. I was figuring out fatherhood, relationships, faith, and life — all at once. That’s where the idea for this podcast came from: honest conversations about what it means to show up, grow up, and lead with love.
The Young Dad Podcast started as a small project to connect with other dads who were doing their best but didn’t always have the support or space to talk about it. Over time, it’s grown into a community — a space for men and families to learn, laugh, and build connection together.
Behind the mic, I’m a husband, dad, and mental health professional who believes in doing life with intention. Every episode is an honest reflection of that — whether we’re talking about parenting wins, personal growth, or the tough lessons that shape us along the way.
At YDP, we believe fatherhood is more than a role — it’s a calling. It’s about connection, love, and community.
We believe that strong families start with open conversations, empathy, and accountability.
We believe that men can be both tough and tender.
And we believe that when dads grow, families thrive.
The mission is to help a million men lead with love, live with purpose, and leave a legacy worth remembering — one honest conversation at a time.
We record from the heart of the Pacific Northwest — often between diaper changes and coffee refills.
The YDP intro has become a fan favorite: “Whether you’re outside grilling, mowing the lawn, or changing dirty diapers…” — because that’s real life.
Our guests come from all walks of life: therapists, teachers, entrepreneurs, athletes, pastors, and everyday dads just trying to do their best.
Off the mic, you can usually find me hanging with family, coaching, or brainstorming new ways to help dads grow together.
