Young-In Kim

I have joined Global Technology Research at Samsung Electronics, where I pursue research-oriented work on advanced industrial and automation systems. I received a Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. My interests include modeling, scheduling, and control of discrete-event dynamic systems. More specifically, I focus on developing analytical methodologies to address operational challenges arising from the integration of emerging technologies, such as autonomous robots, IoT sensors, and intelligent methods, into manufacturing and service systems.

Prior to my doctoral studies, I earned a B.S. degree in Systems Management Engineering in 2017 and an M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering in 2019 from Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon, South Korea.
