At Aa’Dyen’s Light, we turn kindness into action. Inspired by Aa’Dyen Hooks and his message, “You be nice,” our programs are designed to support families facing medical hardship and empower youth to pursue brighter futures.
The Caregiver Relief Fund provides short-term emergency financial assistance to families caring for children with serious or chronic medical conditions. When hospital stays, medical appointments, and caregiving responsibilities disrupt income and stability, we offer practical support to help ease the burden.
Through assistance with essentials such as groceries, utilities, transportation, and hospital-related expenses, this fund allows caregivers to focus on their child’s health and healing without the added weight of immediate financial crisis.
Support may include:
• Groceries and household necessities
• Gas and transportation to medical appointments
• Utility assistance
• Emergency rent support (limited and case-based)
• Hospital-related expenses (meals, parking, lodging)
• Hygiene and comfort items
Applicants must:
• Be the parent or legal guardian of a child (0–18 years old)
• Be caring for a child with a serious or chronic medical condition
• Demonstrate financial hardship related to medical care
• Reside in the United States
To maintain sustainability, we do not provide:
• Long-term financial assistance
• Direct medical bill payments
• Insurance premiums
• Legal fees
The Youth Empowerment Scholarship honors Aa’Dyen’s legacy by investing in resilient young people who are pursuing higher education, vocational training, or certification programs. We believe that adversity does not define potential — and that access to education can transform futures.
Awarded annually during graduation season, this scholarship supports students who demonstrate perseverance, financial need, leadership, and a commitment to kindness, empowering them to pursue their goals with confidence and purpose.
We prioritize students who:
• Demonstrate financial need
• Show resilience and perseverance
• Embody kindness and leadership
• Have overcome personal, family, or medical hardship
• Be between ages 16–24
• Be accepted into or enrolled in an accredited program
• Submit a completed application and essay
• Provide proof of enrollment
• Applications are reviewed by a Selection Committee
• Essays are evaluated using a standardized rubric
• Finalists are selected based on mission alignment, need, and character. All decisions are documented for transparency and fairness.
