I have spent numerous HOURS trying to understand why in the name of god the normal force make us feel heavier or lighter. Can someone PLEASE explain why, when the normal force is greater than the weight force we feel heavier?

I have a Ping Karsten Anser 2. I put a regular Pingman grip on it, which I like much more than the midsize stock grip, but now the putter feels too heavy. How can I get the weight of the grip up without going to a midsize grip. Great putter. I just need it to feel a bit lighter. Thanks

I've experimented with the Tour Lock Pro weights in the past ( -lock-pro-weight-20-gram ) They come in a wide array of weights and the install is super easy. That would be a great way to make the putter "feel" lighter. I've also heard of people wrapping lead tape around the shaft right before the grip. Good Luck!

That seems like a good idea. The Pingman grip is 58gr. I think the stock midsize grip on the Karsten Anser 2 is about 80gr. I don't want to wrap lead around the shaft. I'm thinking that might make the grip feel almost as big as the midsize grip.

You can buy back weight plugs from several sources (Hireko, Golfworks, etc.) you can buy various weights although I don't think you will need much. Likely just need approx. the difference in weight from the pre. grip and the one you are using now. Other than that, you can see if there is weight down the shaft or you can make it slightly shorter.

It does feel a bit lighter in the head, but the overall weight feels heavier and still tough (for me) to have a really light grip on the putter. I came up putting with an early 90's Ping Anser 2, which is a very light weight putter. I also have an old Scotty oil can Newport 2, which is a pretty light weight putter.

back weighting is just a way to trick a SW scale into thinking the club is lighter/feels lighter when in reality, as you have found out, adding weight anywhere will make the putter feel heavier. Who would've guessed? Anyways, you won't be able to get the result you're looking for by trying to move or add weight to the grip. The head may feel lighter but only in contrast to the now heavier butt end. The only way to make the putter lighter is to cut it down, use lighter components (grip, shaft possibly) or remove weight from the head. All other ways of changing head weight feel won't give you a overall lighter feel. If the 50gr back weight felt like too much you could try less back weighting, the midsize grip you had on before was only 22gr heavier than your current grip so maybe adding less weight could help. Lead tape around the shaft near the bottom of the grip as mentioned before could work, also I know some people have filled the shaft with sand/sugar. There's lots of DIY ways to add a bit of weight anywhere from head to butt end of a putter.

I love my old Anser 2 and Scotty "art of putting" Newport 2 putters. Both are very light weight. I've added a little lead to both because they are so light weight. My observation is the Karsten TR grooves seem to work as advertised. I have rather short fingers, so when I found a used TR used with the Pigman grip already on it, I bought it. I didn't realize how much heavier the stock midsize grip is. (58gm - 80gm) I'd really like to make this putter work for me if possible.

Reshafted a set of Mizuno MP62's from KBS stiff to Dynamic Gold Lite S300. Big difference in shaft weight, 120g to 109g, but the irons feel head heavy. Is thee a way to make them feel lighter without reshafting? Backweighting? How?

They feel head heavy, right? Although I've never used them, there are variable weight plugs you can get for the butt end that would counter balance. As another suggested using heavier grips might help, just not sure how much.

They are +1/4 so Mizuno said 'as close to D2 as possible'. After reshafting, they range from D0 (7 iron) to about D4 in 8-9. Want to make the 8-9 irons feel 'lighter'

Curious...did the 8-9 irons feel head heavy with the KBS shafts?

The difference in shaft weight should decrease the swingweight by approx 1.5 and

the 1/4" addition in length should be an increase in swingweight by approx 1.5.

Should be a wash. Make sure no weight was added to the heads during reshafting

and be careful not to add too much weight to the clubs to decrease the swingweight

because you will end up increasing the overall weight (static).

No they did not feel head heavy with KBS, but overall heavier than I care for. Just didn't like the feel of the KBS Stiff even soft stepped x1. reshafted with a lighter shaft expecting a lighter feel, but with no lead weight added by the club fitter, they just feel head heavy, and also the 7I feels very light. added some lead tape to make 7I swingweight heavier. Suspect that Mizuno may not have used their lightest weight heads with the KBS shafts. Don't understand why there would be such a variance/difference in the weight 7vs8vs9.

Because your clubfitter did a shoddy job. He should have adjusted the tip weights to make sure they had the same swingweight unless you asked for something different.

The easiest solution now is to backweight to bring them to your desired SW. or redo the tip weights to bring them to the desired SW.

I believe the balance points on the shafts are different which can through swingweight off also. Another option, albeit over the top, is to find someone to grind the soles to a better profile for you and that may help a bit also by taking some weight off.

The problem is the wheel still feels heavy to turn with a decent amount of Damper, NDP and NFR needed to stop oscillation. If you then turn down FF, the wheel is lighter, but looses much of the fidelity and road feel. I'm down to FF 32 to 34 in ACC for example and it 's still too heavy on turning.

I use FF between 55-80 depending on the car and steering wheel used with an in game Gain setting of 60 (higher in game gain setting causes software clipping anyway). So maybe this would result in FF 60-70 in your case with in game gain 60. For me, it does not feel too hard to turn, its just perfect.

hi Maurice, thank you so much for your CarSetups! I tried some of them and the Cars feel amazing! Completely different to the recommendations and also to my settings :) One question, do you have, or do you want to share some other Settings for all of us, for example, Assetto Corsa (the old one) and maybe for DirtRally 2.0 and Formula 1 ???? That would be awesome for all of us!

There are certain things that I have noticed over the course of 3 decades being in practice, that literally hold people back from experiencing happiness. These actions, beliefs and thought patterns keep us from just enduring life, to actually enjoying it. We move from fear to freedom. And while not everyone who does these things will have a major life change. Most will see improvements. And if you ask someone who has been in heavy pain for years, a little relief goes a long way. So why not make the adjustments? The worst thing that will happen to you is you get zero results. On the other hand, you just may lighten the load.

If you have a dark space that you want to feel brighter, consider brightening your materials. In a dark bedroom, you may want to go with a bed frame in a light or muted material, but even switching out dark bedding for a lightweight fabric in a lighter color can make a big difference.

[Caveat: Many of us are feeling heavy right now because we have experienced significant losses and setbacks in our lives. This post is not meant to imply that a purpose-driven word or affirmation can take the place of a healthy grieving process, therapy, or other kinds of critical support. Instead, such small steps can complement or enhance other work we are doing to let our light shine in the world.]
