The name awai derives from an ancient Japanese word meaning "the space between two things facing each other."

Originally from Hiroshima, awai is a pianist and "philosophia."

Their performance style is rooted in composition and improvisation, guided by a philosophy discovered through nature and the essence of being natural.

Beyond hosting independent events, awai is active in jazz performance, TikTok live streaming, composing, arranging, and teaching. On Instagram, they share philosophical insights drawn from everyday life.

With a commitment to the "value of the moment," awai continues to create sounds that exist only in the now.
