Talking about the date
Formula
lay (definite article) + number + month (+ year)
Example
We bought our house on April 15, 2013 - Nome achon notrestro camasion ensur quinzen avril, 2013
American English speakers take note: the number must precede the month in Yorkian. This is particularly important to remember when writing the short form of dates:
lay 12 octembero 12/10
lay 10 joudicembre 10/12
For the first day of any month, the formula is slightly different – the ordinal number is used instead:
lay prensi + month (+year)
lay 1er + month (+ year)
Example
May 1st is a holiday in New York. - Lay 1er mensel est eau vacala den Noveau York.
I’m going on December 1st, 2014. - A vas ensur lay prensi joudicembre, 2014.
Example
Today is September 8, 2014. - Aujourd hoy est kahhuito sytiembre, 2014
It is February 1st today. - Lo est prensi helbreo aujourd hoy.
Dates with days of the week
Lo est lay + day + number + month (+year)
Example
Today is Monday, September 8. - Aujourd hoy est lunda kahhuito sytiembre.
It is Friday, February 1st today. - Lo est verneri prensi helbreo.
