SATURDAY, MARCH 1, MEDIUM HIKE (5 MILES) Boyd Big Tree Preserve Conservation Area: This is a loop hike
following the Janie Trail loop via the Pond Loop trail. The trail has some steep climbs, is well-marked, and has wide trails.
Recommend hiking poles, hiking boots or trail shoes, lunch, snacks, and water. Dress for the weather conditions.
Meeting Time and Locations: Meet at 10 AM at Emigsville Park and Ride off I-83 at exit 24. Please contact the hike leader if you
plan to meet at Boyd Big Tree Conservation Area.
Carpool Fee: $1, if carpooling

SATURDAY, MARCH 7, LONG HIKE (10 MILES): Heritage Rail Trail from Glen Rock to New Freedom. Let’s welcome
spring in style with a relaxed fun hike. This hike is on a packed gravel path, showcasing historic railroad charm. In the wooded area
around Railroad Station multiple metal sculptures can be admired. The distance from Glen Rock to the train station at New Freedom is
5 miles. After a break at the train station, we will return on the same path to Glen Rock. Although it is 10 miles altogether, it is an easy
10 miles without inclines or other challenges. Wear good shoes, pack some refreshments, no hiking poles required.
Meeting Time and Location: 9:30 a.m. at Glen Rock, 32 Main Street, Glen Rock, PA 17327 (public parking lot next to the Glen
Rock Library). If planning to carpool, please contact the hike leader. Meet up time will be 9 AM for carpooling from the York
School of Technology.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS STARTS MARCH 8
SUNDAY, MARCH 8, SHORT HIKE (3 MILES) Wizard Ranch. Join us as we walk through this pretty nature preserve
maintained by the Lancaster Conservancy in York County. There is some elevation on our 3-mile hike through the hills along the
Susquehanna Riverlands. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. A link to more information about Wizard Ranch is
at: https://www.lancasterconservancy.org/preserves/wizard-ranch. Call ahead if inclement weather.
Meeting Time and Location: Meet at 10 AM at Wizard Ranch Parking Lot. If you're traveling East on 462, take a left onto Accomac
Road and follow as it snakes through to the entrance for Wizard Ranch. If you're traveling West on 462, take a right onto Accomac

FRIDAY, MARCH 13 COVERED DISH DINNER AND PROGRAM: Presentation by Allen Britton on hiking the Appalachian
Trail. Join us on March 13 at York Township to hear about the adventures. Meeting location: the York Township Park Building at 25
Oak Street, Directions as follows: From I-83 exit 16, take Queen St (PA-74) south for about 1 mile. At Campbell Music, turn left onto
Oak St. drive about a tenth of a mile and stop at the stop sign; do not turn right. Drive straight ahead past the township building to the
mall building in the middle of the field.
Time: Friday, March 13, 6:30 to 9PM. Program will start about 7:10, if you prefer to skip the meal. Bring a dish to share, plates,
bowls, flatware, cups, etc.
SATURDAY, MARCH 14 - MEDIUM HIKE (6 MILES), Codorus State Park: This is a medium hike at the Campground Loop
and Mary Ann Furnace trail. There are some slight inclines on the trail. Wear sturdy Hiking boots. Poles are optional. Half of the trail
is on asphalt. We will traverse the whole Campground loop including the trip down to the campground boat ramp. Bring a snack and
we will be stopping midway for a scenic stop along the trail.
Meeting Time and Location: 8 AM at the Campground Park Office parking lot. Directions from York and the vicinity. Go West
on Rt 216 until you see the signs for the park entrance. Alert! don't turn at the sign for the Campground entrance. Continue West until
you see a White Sign for Dubbs Church on the left. Make a left at the sign. Continuing following the road around to the right. The
campground entrance will be on the right in about a half mile. It will take you to the Campground Parking lot.
If you're Coming fromEast of Hanover. Access Rt 94 South. Travel to Grandview rd. Make a left. Travel past Black Rock rd. until you get to the light at
216. Make a right. Travel until you see the white Sign on the right. Make a right and follow it to the campground entrance.

SATURDAY, MARCH 14, LONG HIKE (11.3 MILES): MASON-DIXON TRAIL - This hike is the fifth hike on the Mason-
Dixon Trail. This is a moderately challenging hike that takes us through Susquehanna Riverlands State Park (The trail was re-routed
in 2025), Robert A. Kinsley Nature Preserve, and finishes up at the Wizard Ranch Nature Preserve. Wizard Ranch is not part of the
trail, but the parking area works out well for our needs. This is a beautiful hike with no less than five overlooks of the Susquehanna
River. This is a point-to-point hike. Bring water, snacks, lunch, and hiking poles.
Carpool Option: There is no carpool option but please let me know if you are parking at the trail head (Codorus Furnace, 4045
Furnace Road, Mount Wolf) or Wizard Ranch so that we can get an accurate count for the shuttle drivers)

SATURDAY, MARCH 28, MEDIUM HIKE (5.5 Miles): HIGHPOINT SCENIC VISTA: Shuttle hike on the Mason-Dixon Trail
from Riverfront Park through Highpoint Scenic Vista to the Zimmerman Center for Heritage. Please come out to the river to enjoy the
hills and open spaces along Susquehanna. This is a moderate level hike with some road walking, ups, downs and beautiful vistas at
Highpoint. We will stop to rest and look around at Jim Hooper’s bench at Native Lands Park. Wear good hiking boots, dress for the
weather, and bring snacks and water. Optional lunch at Burning Bridge Tavern (108 Hellam St., Wrightsville) after the hike.

SATURDAY, MARCH 28, LONG HIKE (10 Miles) - Mason-Dixon Trail: This hike is the sixth in a series on the Mason-Dixon
Trail. This is a moderately challenging hike that takes us along the Susquehanna River, up to Highpoint Scenic Vista, and finishes at
Kline Run Park. This is a mix of road and trail walking. There is a tunnel with a stream that runs under a road. You may get your
boots wet, depending on the water level. There are some historic sites along the way, and the beautiful Susquehanna River will be in
view most of the way. Bring water, snacks, and lunch.
Carpool Option: There is no carpool option but please let me know if you are parking at the trail head (Wizard Ranch Parking Area)
or Kline Run Park so that we can get an accurate count for the shuttle drivers.
Meeting Time and Location: Kline Run Park at 8:30AM.
Hike Starts: Wizard Ranch at 9:00AM
