1. Is there a predetermined membership number for NHS?

There is no predetermined membership number. The committee selects applicants until it feels all qualified students have been chosen.

2. Can one teacher keep you from becoming a member of NHS?

One teacher cannot keep you from becoming a member of NHS, unless you have cheated in his/her class.

3. What is meant by character?

The quality of character can be defined as honesty, good manners, attitude, and behavior in class and in the school community.

4. Can I appeal the decision of the NHS selection committee?

Applicants who are not selected for admission into NHS are able to appeal the decision through an in-person interview with the NHS selection committee. The appeal committee will consist of 5 teachers, and the interview will be facilitated by the NHS advisor.
