BATTERY SYSTEMS LABORATORY
KAIST CCS Graduate School of Mobility
Welcome
We are recruiting graduate students (Master's/Ph.D.) interested in research on secondary batteries (e.g., Li-Ion battery), next-generation batteries (e.g. Solid-state battery, Lithium metal battery) and related battery systems (e.g. electric vehicles) in our lab.
Interested students, please contact Prof. Lee via email.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
Design, Analyze, Optimize and Develop Safe and High-Performance Energy Mobility Systems
Multi-scale, multi-physics battery research from a particle, electrode, cell, module, pack, to system level using both experimental and simulation techniques.
◦ Cell characterization, material analysis, cell design, and cell production.
◦ A physics based electrochemical, mechanical, thermal, degradation model development
◦ Atomistic simulations using first principle calculations
◦ Optimization of battery electrode, cell, module, pack, and EV performance
◦ Module and pack system design and development with safety features
◦ Electric Vehicle conversion from ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) by removing engine parts
