Week 4
Week 4
In this week I was tasked with making a background menu for our game. I knew that I wanted it to be in a garage that can show off Kyles cars that he has made as well as my own capabilities. so I took to the web to find a good image that I wanted reference as I knew that I didn't want to be making something that perfectly resembled an image that I have found. The main things that I wanted to include was a car lift and a show room look to it by adding something that will spin around to show off one of the cars.
I firstly started to model the basic shape of my garage and made the show off part where a car can spin on top of it. I was very happy with this design as this allowed for two angles into the garage. This will be beneficial a bit later on as we then wanted to do a splash screen from a different perspective.
After some adjusting and getting a few props in place it started to come to life but it very much still felt empty and was in need of some more props and a paint job.
This is the final splash screen image that will show up when you are loading the game. In this I have added wrenches tool boxes tables wardrobes and the AI cars. Some of the props were reused from my asset pack such as the cones and tyres.
This is the final look for the menu screen without the buttons in. I am very happy with the outcome and think that the only thing I would like to change would be some textures as the walls and floor seem very blank and out of place. One issue that i had with getting this final look was that the walls were in the way therefore I had to delete the walls so I didnt have any clipping and that I could fit the entire garage from one angle.
Once I had finished my camera angles and the garage I sent my files over to Joseph and he then added them into Unity where they add the buttons and the splash screen on the load up.
