Yohani was born on September 26, 1993, in Sri Lanka. She grew up in a musical family, and her parents were her first music teachers. Yohani has often mentioned that her father was a significant influence on her music and encouraged her to pursue her passion for singing.
She started gaining fame for her cover songs she posted online. Eventually she made her own songs that aided her in reaching higher heights. She has also been involved in Bollywood songs as well as Tamil songs.
Apart from her music, Yohani is passionate about social justice and activism. As a local artist she has been vocal about gender equality and has worked with several organizations to raise awareness and advocate for women's rights in Sri Lanka.
In terms of hobbies, Yohani has shared that she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She has also mentioned that she enjoys watching movies and listening to music from different genres to broaden her musical knowledge.
Yohani's music is a fusion of traditional Sri Lankan music and contemporary beats, which sets her apart from other artists in the industry.
