Usually, students begin an Ashtanga practice with five repetitions of Sun Salutation A and Sun Salutation B. This is followed by a set of standing poses, in 5 repetitions, then a set of seated poses. After you have mastered these three pose sequences, your instructor will guide you through the advanced series. 60+ minute class

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Patricia’s yoga journey began in 2008, when she attended her first classes at a work conference in Victoria. She quickly fell in love with the flow of movement and breath, and the deep sense of calm it brought. In 2020, when the world slowed down, Patricia embraced the opportunity for inner growth and professional training. She completed her PN1 Nutrition Certification with Precision Nutrition and, in 2021, earned her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher certification at Yoga Public Teacher Training Academy under the guidance of two respected teachers.
A lifelong student, Patricia continues to expand her knowledge and practice. Her training includes fitness and functional anatomy, Applied Yoga Anatomy & Muscle Activation, and CrossFit judging (2023, 2025). She is also certified in First Aid and CPR, and is currently pursuing an 800-hour Yoga Therapy Certification accredited by Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapists, through the Canmore Counselling Trauma-Informed Yoga Psychology School including Yoga Nidra, Pre & Post Natal, Yoga for Kids & Teens certification. Alongside her yoga studies, Patricia is training at the Manitoba Emergency Services College to support her work as a rural firefighter.
Patricia’s teaching is empathetic, inclusive, and rooted in the traditional foundations of yoga. She honors Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga, guided by the wisdom of the Yamas and Niyamas, and shares these teachings with respect and care. Her approach is trauma-informed, welcoming, and supportive of all bodies. With subtle yet powerful guidance, Patricia helps students connect mind, body, and spirit—offering more than just another fitness class.
For Patricia, yoga is not only self-care but also collective care. It is about community, unity, reflection, liberation, and creating spaces that disrupt oppression and decolonize wellness. Her classes meet you where you are, working at your pace, so that healing and growth feel accessible to all.
Through Yogi in Nature, Patricia offers holistic services, meaningful experiences, and handmade products that support the whole being—bringing mind, body, spirit, and environment into balance. Her mission is simple: to help you feel good, so you can live your best life. Yogi in Nature is more than a wellness service; it is a safe space and community where you are supported on your journey.
