David is a chef from Australia and Michaela is a teacher, originally from the UK. After meeting in Singapore and some exotic travels together, they decided to settle down and moved to Alhama in 2018. They run Casa Cervantes, two boutique tourist apartments in their home in the most historical part of Alhama.
They run yoga and meditation classes in the nearby Prison Museum (CIAG) and run retreats in collaboration with the wonderful Marie-Paul and Henry who have a beautiful Finca on the edge of our closest natural park.

David
Michaela’s first memory of yoga was trying to replicate the asanas pictured in her mum’s yoga book at the age of six. She waited another twelve years before ‘getting back into it’ and has been practising pretty much ever since. She has also explored different meditation modalities, taking a course in active meditation inspired by Osho techniques.
After deciding to leave Singapore, her home of 13 years, she travelled to India to complete her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at the foot of the Himalayas.
Her background in teaching gives her the experience to make people feel at ease and adapt styles and techniques to suit all ability levels
David is a hotel trained chef who has worked in some of the most renowned hotels and restaurants throughout Asia, Australia and Europe.
