About Amanda

What lead me to here...

My name is Amanda Salazar. I live in Albuquerque, NM. I am a wife, mother, and small business owner. I practiced the yoga asana off and on over the past 10 years. I never found a connection to it until a couple of years ago in 2017. I found that connection during a vulnerable time in my life. My grandma, who adopted and raised me, passed away in June 2016. In December 2016, my brother suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury which later lead to his passing in October 2017. Somewhere in between, I found yoga again. I needed to do something for me. Something that didn't include being a wife, mother or business owner. So I went to a yoga class. It wasn't fireworks right away. But I kept going. I kept showing up for myself. Over time, I started to notice a change. The feeling of breath and movement took me to this place. A place where I could be completely present. A place I had never been before. Yoga helped me through great loss. Yoga was there for me when I felt like I was at my lowest points in life. After a solid year of practicing, I decided that I wanted to become a certified yoga teacher. I needed to share my love of yoga with other people. I did a 10 month program and received my 200-HR certification in October 2018. It was an incredible journey and I learned so much about myself. I was left wanting to learn more. In December 2020, I completed a two year training program and became 500-HR certified.

Yoga is a way of life. I know first hand that it can change lives because it changed mine.
