Title: Orthopedic & Musculoskeletal Biomedical Engineering - Applications and Case Studies
Abstract: The presentation serves as a “quick tour” in the field of Biomedical Engineering with a special focus in aspects related to Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation of the human musculoskeletal system. Several aspects of clinical, industrial and research nature will be highlighted. The audience will have the opportunity to “visit” real life cases related to topics such as prosthetics, orthotics as well as bone and joint implants for fracture reconstruction and arthroplasty. Professional and academic pathways will be also discussed.
