Term insurance is a type of life insurance that provides coverage for a certain period, or a specified "term." If the insured dies during the time period specified in the policy and the policy is active, or in force, a death benefit will be paid. 

Final expense life insurance, sometimes called funeral expense insurance or burial insurance, is a limited, inexpensive policy designed to cover all of the costs associated with someone's passing. 

Indexed universal life (IUL) insurance is permanent, which means it lasts your entire life and builds cash value. An IUL policy allows for some cash value growth through an equity index account, unlike other universal policies that only grow cash value through non-equity earned rates. 

Whole life insurance is a type of permanent life insurance, which means the insured person is covered for the duration of his or her life if premiums are paid on time. The cash value is also an important feature of a whole life policy.
