About Us

Located on Aungier Street in Dublin 2, the YMCA Karate Club is part of on organisation called JKA-Shotokan Ireland (JKA-SI).

JKA-SI is a non-profit organisation established with the goal of promoting traditional Japanese karate in Ireland. It has affiliated clubs in Dublin, Cork and Galway.

Internationally, JKA-SI is affiliated directly with the Japan Karate Association (JKA) in Tokyo. This gives its members (and members of the YMCA club) access to a global network of world class instructors. It also allows its members to test for JKA accredited black belt grades.
