Reception: We hosted a drinks reception in the ARC at 18:00.
OAMN Event: Operator Algebras Mentor Network (OAMN) hosted a happy hour for all YMC*A participants who belong to its Mentee Target Group, consisting of those who are underrepresented or in minority within mathematics due to gender. At the happy hour, they set up a discussion on various topics that are especially relevant for the Mentee Target Group. This event took place at Curlers rest at 16:45.
Ceilidh: At 19:00 in the Debates Chamber (GUU) we hosted a Ceilidh, which is a traditional Scottish dance led by a band playing Scottish folk music.
Afternoon excursions: Talks on this day ended at 13:15. In the afternoon there were hosted excursions. See the booklet for more information.
Career Panel: At 16:00 there was a panel focused on career advice that was audience-question-driven. On the panel we had from academia Christian Bönicke (Newcastle), Chris Bruce (Newcastle), Nora Szakacs (Manchester) and Runlian Xia (Glasgow). From industry we had Selcuk Barlak. The academics were all UK based, working in areas related to operator algebas, and had recently secrured permanent positions. Selcuk made the transition from operator algebras to industry.
Conference dinner: At 19:00 we had the conference dinner at The Corinthian Club.
