In order to receive a Canadian tax receipt for your donations to Young Life, you will need to follow the directions below to make a donation to YLMC Ministry Affiliates. The Young Life Giving portal is a US-based donation system and you will not receive a Canadian tax receipt for any amounts you have given through that portal.
If you wish to donate to Young Life of Canada, they are a separate entity and you will need to contact them directly. The information presented here is not for Young Life of Canada.
You will need your own credit card information.
For donating as a Canadian to a Young Life area outside of Canada, you will need the staff name and their YL MISSION UNIT (if you haven’t heard of this, please contact your YL staff person for that information). There is a field at the very bottom of the form to indicate YL AREA NUMBER (aka YL Mission Unit) and staff person name, this information is required. If it is left blank, then your donation will go to Young Life in general and will not be allocated to the area/mission unit and staff person you are wanting to support.

It is best to submit payments around the very middle of the month, particularly if you are setting up a recurring donation, so submitting the donation form online is best done between the 1st and the 20th of a month.
You can set payments up to be a one-time payment, or recurring monthly or yearly.
You can also set an “in honour of” that you can include the staff person you are supporting there too. This will send an e-card to them so they can know to expect the donation and can follow up to make sure it lands in their staff account. This is not required, but we would recommend it as it helps to keep the staff person in the loop of what to expect. You will need the staff person’s email to do this step.
You will receive a donation receipt immediately after each payment is processed through CanadaHelps. YLMC Ministry Affiliates does not do any of the yearly receipting. If you would like one receipt for the whole year, then you will need to make a CanadaHelps account and set it up for yearly receipting. You can find instructions online on how to set up an account with CanadaHelps.
