Yijen Wang is an Assistant Professor in the School of International Liberal Studies at Waseda University, where she completed her PhD in Applied Linguistics. Her research primarily focuses on the factors affecting technology adoption by teachers and students in language teaching, with a particular interest in learner and teacher motivation and the integration of artificial intelligence in language education. Yijen has published numerous research articles and book chapters in these areas. She is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Technology in Language Teaching & Learning and serves as the Series Editor for Elements in Technology in Second Language Education by Cambridge University Press. Additionally, she reviews for multiple international journals in the field. Fluent in Japanese and Chinese, Yijen is also leading several studies on facilitating EFL writing proficiency through AI tools, focusing on Japanese EFL learners and their perceptions of AI tools and their impact on cognitive processes and metacognitive awareness. Her recent talks include several international conferences, where she discussed AI in language education, teacher well-being, students' perspectives, and the use of AI tools in English academic writing.
