Seminar instructor:
As a seminar instructor for Business Research, a core course for MSc Management students, I have successfully taught in-person seminars to classes ranging from 20 to 30 students. In this role, I demonstrated the ability to innovate within the curriculum and take responsibility for the effective delivery of teaching programs. I incorporated empirical research methods, case studies, simulations, exercises, and debates to engage students and promote active learning. These varied teaching techniques ensured that students could apply theoretical concepts to practical situations, enhancing their understanding of complex business challenges.
Research supervisor:
As a research advisor, I served as the primary supervisor for 26 postgraduate students and 4 undergraduate students on their dissertation theses. Over a three-month period, I met with these students, guiding them through key elements of academic research: survey design, hypothesis development, data analysis, and effective research paper structuring. In this process, I prioritized inclusivity by tailoring my support to meet each student’s individual needs, whether through Q&A sessions, sharing writing samples, or offering personalized feedback on their work. This hands-on approach not only helped students refine their research but also fostered an environment of equal opportunity and support.
Guest lecturer and Teaching assistant:
As a teaching assistant for postgraduates and MBA, my involvement in marking assignments and exams has further strengthened my ability to provide constructive feedback and assess students’ understanding. As a guest lecturer for Operations and Technology Management, I have had the opportunity to lead discussions, deliver lectures, and support student learning in areas such as supply chain management, technology management, and operational strategy. I strive to create an interactive and engaging learning environment, where students are encouraged to think critically and apply their knowledge to real-world business challenges. By combining hands-on exercises, case studies, and active participation, I aim to equip students with the skills and confidence necessary to excel in operations and technology management.

"It was great meeting with you today! I really enjoyed our discussion. I want to thank you for the guidance you've provided on my dissertation, particularly like identifying feasible data and conducting preliminary tests. Also, the idea to engage a heterogeneous discussion and perform robust checks using different measurements to check the variables has really inspired me go for a more rigorous analysis."
"I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to my supervisor, Yiyao Zhou, for her invaluable guidance and unwavering support throughout the course of my research. Her profound insights and constant encouragement have played a pivotal role in shaping my academic growth."
