The project “Pieces” is a series of digital paintings. The painting were based on photography that I took in the past. The photographs are present with the paintings on the side as reference. These photographs some were from years ago and some are more recent.

I used the app Procreate on my iPad to finish the project. Procreate is the app that I use to make art most of the time outside of class.

This series total includes nine paintings. And there are three parts in the series, personate cartoons, memories, and self-portraits. I choose to make these paintings because I always work with art only for classes but not really for myself, and now I wanted to make some art that is more related to myself. So the audience for these paintings will actually be myself, which means I would like them to be whatever I think and however I want it to look like. The photographs that I picked as a reference all bring back the memories of the moment，they are not any significant or important moments of my life but still pieces of my life, and I want to present them in art.
