Welcome! My name is Yin Lee. I am an Assistant Professor of Management at the School of Business, Ajou University. I earned my Ph.D. in Human Resources and Industrial Relations (HRIR) from the School of Labor and Employment Relations, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
I mainly study how the effects of HR policies, practices, and processes are shaped by organizational contexts and how these contexts shape individual and organizational outcomes.
The following are specific empirical contexts.
First, I study the effects of HR policies and practices on individual and organizational outcomes, such as turnover, employee well-being, and firm performance, and the role of organizational and governance contexts as boundary conditions.
Second, I study employee turnover. I examine why individuals leave their organizations, where they go afterward, and what happens to both the departing employees and the organizations they leave and join.
Third, I also examine how organizational change (e.g., restructuring, downsizing, M&A, spin-off) and leadership change (e.g., CEO change) can influence organizational and individual outcomes.
Last but not least, I explore the organizational and governance implications of automation technology (e.g., AI, robots, etc.). For instance, I investigate how these technologies affect organizational and individual outcomes, and how organizational and governance contexts shape the consequences of automation.
