Healing With Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga was created to balance your energy. Most individuals are taught that the goal is to balance their body and mind. This is accomplished by doing exercises. Yoga at home provides you with a way to balance your body and mind on a daily basis. As you continue to practice yoga at home, you will continue to notice how much more relaxed you feel. It is like a domino effect.

Can you practice hatha yoga at home? The short answer is yes! With the slower pace and greater purposefulness, yin yoga can be easy to learn, and the instructor can spend more time assisting you to correctly perform your poses. If you currently have chronic conditions or injuries, you might wonder is yin yoga appropriate? The short answer to that is yes, it is safe.

In our modern day society, many people suffer from chronic conditions such as; low back pain, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, PMS, anxiety disorders, and many other illnesses. While these problems do not typically develop out of the womb, they are caused by years of poor posture, or a lack of flexibility in joints, fascia, or connective tissue. The body simply cannot keep itself upright if there are imbalances within its various joints, fascia, and connective tissue. Yoga can be practiced safely and effectively at home, as long as you are mindful of your body, and are doing it in a manner that does not put undue pressure on any of the internal organs.

There are three primary forms of yin yoga: power yoga, gentle yoga, and flow yoga. Each of these forms has been designed to work the body through different parts of the body, slowly and deliberately, in order to achieve a sense of balance and calmness. In general, slow, deliberate movements are used during these practices, which are sometimes accompanied by light stretches and easy breathing.

One of the most popular, and effective, of these forms are calling Sun Salutation. In this pose, you stand in a sun salutation position, keeping your back straight. Your hands should be placed on the floor in front of you, with your palms facing inward. While maintaining your body in this position, you gently rotate your arms, moving them in small circles, in a slow, continuous cycle, back and forth.

Another form of yin yoga called the Yin Yoga with Bear consists of gentle poses that increase awareness of your body and mind. This type of yoga is very relaxing, as well as mentally stimulating. In this pose, you are to face down, with your eyes closed. Your hands are placed on the floor, and your feet are either flat on the floor or lightly touching the ground. In one direction, you are to rotate your upper body, while in another, you are to rotate your lower body. Slowly, and in a calm, steady rhythm, you alternate these motions, both in terms of direction and in terms of speed.

To perform any of these gentle poses, it is important that you have a firm basis in your physical and mental health. The purpose of these poses is to strengthen the body through strength and flexibility, in addition to mental stability. Yin yoga classes help students learn the basic Yin yang practice, as well as its benefits for the mind and body.
