I am an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the School of Accountancy (SOA) at Singapore Management University (SMU). I earned my PhD in Management Science (Accounting) from HEC Paris in 2018, under the doctoral school of the University of Paris-Saclay, and was a Visiting PhD Research Scholar at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business in 2017. Prior to entering academia, I led a team as Manager in the Management Control Department at BNP Paribas in Paris, specializing in risk and finance within the leasing investment and financing business.
My research interests span disclosure and its real effects, advertising spill-over effects in capital markets, financial intermediaries, common ownership, ESG disclosure, insider trading, earnings management, regulation, and corporate governance. I primarily employ empirical-archival methods, leveraging novel data and unique settings to address emerging questions. My work has been published in Contemporary Accounting Research (CAR) and The Accounting Review (TAR). I have received multiple AAA FARS Midyear Meeting Excellence in Reviewing Awards and regularly serve as a referee for academic journals and conferences.
At SMU, I teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including courses in Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Financial Statement Analysis, and Private Equity. Since the 2018-2019 academic year, I have served as the instructor and faculty coordinator for "ACCT101 - Financial Accounting". I have been honored with the SMU School of Accountancy Most Promising Teacher Award (2021, 2022), the SMU School of Accountancy Dean’s List for Teaching Excellence Award (2021-2023), and SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business Dean's Teaching Honour List (Postgraduate Programmes 2025). My Financial Accounting course has been recognized as a model for junior faculty and PhD students from 2019 to 2024. Previously, I taught "Accounting: Introduction to Financial and Managerial Accounting" for the Specialized Master Program at HEC Paris in 2017.
I am deeply involved in SMU’s doctoral education. I co-supervise PhD students and DBA candidates, serve as an external examiner for the SMU-ZJU Accounting & Finance DBA Program, and lead PhD reading group discussions for workshops and seminars. These engagements allow me to mentor doctoral students and share valuable insights from my academic journey.
Committed to bridging research and practice, I maintain strong relationships with industry professionals in auditing, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, private credit, real estate, and hedge funds. I frequently invite practitioners to share insights with my students and actively participate in industry conferences on topics such as digital transformation, ESG, sustainability, private equity, private credit, and wealth management.
Having lived, studied, and worked in China, France, the UK, the US, and Singapore, I am dedicated to cross-cultural education and community service, and I actively contribute to academic and professional development in Asia and Europe.
