My research focuses on how evolving media environments shape communication behaviors and democratic life. Using surveys, experiments, and computational methods, I examine how political elites and the public navigate a fragmented media landscape and identify solutions to foster more accountable communication, a better-informed citizenry, and resilient democratic norms. Methodologically, my work advances the measurement of communication behaviors and uncovers the mechanisms that link media environments to democratic outcomes.
Before coming to the University of Wisconsin, I received my MA in Journalism and Communication from Fudan University and my BA in Philosophy from Renmin University of China.
