Nanomaterials for Energy Conversion, Storage, and Environmental Remediation's.
Dr. Yilkal Dessie is an Assistant Professor of Materials Chemistry in the Department of Applied Chemistry at Adama Science and Technology University. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Applied Chemistry (2010) from Ambo University. He was awarded his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Physical Chemistry and Materials Chemistry from Addis Ababa University and Adama Science and Technology University in 2012 and 2021, respectively.
Dr. Yilkal Dessie research lies at the interfaces between other disciplines. Research in Materials Chemistry seeks to understand the relationship between composition, structure, and property lies in a broad spectrum of materials, in order to proceed to the rational design of new materials with controllable functionality. His research broadly falls into two categories: the synthesis of new nanomaterials and applications of nanomaterials for the use of advanced energy conversion, storage, and wastewater treatment applications. In the course of his research, Dr. Yilkal Dessie has done on nanomaterials preparations for electrode modification applications for bioelectricity and wastewater treatment using Microbial Fuel Cell.
Dr. Yilkal Dessie has published over 21 articles in an international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and has obtained funding for his research from Adama Science and Technology University. Currently, he is an active staff in Adama Science and Technology University.
