Selected Student Evaluation:

"Yifei made this challenging course much more manageable amidst online learning. She was always available to meet to discuss misunderstandings, openly encouraged discussion of concepts in class, and genuinely wanted her students to succeed. It was extremely refreshing to have a professor who was just as passionate about the course topic as she was about her students and their well–being. As a senior, I have had quite a few professors at this point, and can confidently say Yifei has been one of my favorites."

"I absolutely loved the course. I really enjoyed the practice exercises we did in class, it helped the class be more engaging and also helped to apply concepts to real applications. I also thought the HWs and Lab Exercises were helpful. Yifei was one of the best teachers I have had at UMD. She was always willing to help and provide feedback, and I can not thank her enough for her dedication to the class and students."

"I really enjoyed this instructor. I wish I had her for more of my classes. I believe the slides were covered efficiently, the hands-on coding during class are helpful, and instructor is patient to answer questions/reexplain. Overall is great. Coding is a difficult concept so having this environment is great. I really appreciate the promptness of emails, grading, feedback, and support. The structure of the course is fair and support the success of student's grades and learning. "
