About Jeremy Cloake
Jeremy is regarded as the world’s leading non-Aboriginal expert on the yidaki, with over 25 years of experience working directly with Yolŋu yidaki players, makers, and artists from Northeast Arnhem Land. He is the official yidaki consultant to Yirrkala Art Centre, the spiritual and cultural home of the yidaki.
From 2000, Jeremy spent five years based in community, building relationships rooted in integrity, respect, and reciprocity as part of his role with the art centre. Since then, he has taught yidaki internationally with full support from his Yolŋu mentors and collaborators.
