I am a Postodctoral Researcher at Université du Luxembourg, campus Belval mentored by Prof. Karin Melnick.
I have completed my PhD in mathematics at Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp, Brazil) under the supervision of Prof. Gabriel Ponce and co-supervision of Prof. Ali Tahzibi from Universidade de São Paulo (USP, Brazil). During my doctoral studies I completed an one-year research internship at Pennsylvania State University (Penn State, USA) under the supervision of Prof. Federico Rodriguez-Hertz.
My main research interests are smooth dynamical systems and differential geometry. In particular, I am interested in the dynamics of the geodesic flow, partially hyperbolic systems, non-uniform hyperbolic systems and the interplay between geometric structures and dynamics.
Beyond math, I am interested in the philosophical aspect of veganism/vegetarianism and cycling in all of its forms.
For me it is always a pleasure to communicate mathematical ideas and learn from other people, so feel free reach me out at ygor.dejesus [at] uni [dot] lu.
