Travel grant
YFRSW participation includes financial support for travel costs to attend the workshop and Interspeech. While it is possible to participate in YFRSW more than once, only first-time participants will be eligible to receive financial support. The exact amount of money we are able to reimburse depends on the amount of sponsorship we receive, and on the distance travelled by the participant. You must make your travel purchases yourself and submit the receipts for reimbursement during or after the workshop. Therefore, it is crucial to keep all relevant receipts related to your trip! More details about reimbursement will be provided to participants of the workshop as soon as possible.
Eligible costs for reimbursement are:
Round-trip economy class flight (or train ride) for the workshop participant
Up to 7 nights in a hotel/hostel (August 30th to September 6th, 2024) for the workshop participant. (Note: You are welcome to share a room. If you do so, we will reimburse only your portion of the room price. The bill should state the number of guests who were accommodated in the room so that your exact costs are clear. Alternatively, some places may be willing to divide the bill among guests in a shared room so that you can submit the bill for your costs only. )
Interspeech 2024 registration at the early-bird light student rate (including ISCA membership, if necessary)
No reimbursement is offered for:
Poster printing
Meals or other extra expenses (other than those included in the workshop and Interspeech)
Participation in Interspeech tutorials or other satellite events
Cost of visa or other travel-related expenses
Costs incurred by a travelling companion
Extra days for personal travel
Extra hostel days due to isolation with Covid-19 (or other illness)
Cancelled travel for any reason – it is your job to ensure you have adequate travel insurance to cover any cancellation!
