MEMBERS WHO HAVE LEFT US, BUT ARE NOT FORGOTTEN
Donald Corliss
1941-2024
Don is survived by his wife Susan of 37 years and three stepchildren, two sons from a previous marriage, ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Yesteryear Car Club of Shelton. He was known for and so proud of his big blue Chrysler Imperial, which he had restored and would show around the peninsula at various car shows, winning 53 trophies.
Donald Pauley
1937-2022
Don lived most of his life in Shelton, with exception to the time he served with the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife Mary Kay. Don received an Honorable Discharge for his service in 1967. Back in 1967 a small group of friends, with an interest in restoring and preserving the history of vintage and older automobiles, got together, and formed 'Yesteryear Car Club' of Shelton, WA. Then comes along a quiet, unassuming young man named Don Pauley, who went on to be one of the Club's oldest, active members. You could always find Don at any swap meet or car event and he had an extensive car collection of his own. He was the founding member of the 'Yesteryear Car Club' and an avid collector.
Joseph Stiles
1955-2024
Joe is survived by his wife Janette of 25 years. He served in the United States Coast Guard and spent 33 years on the City of Tacoma Fire Department, retiring in 2011. He was a member of the Yesteryear Car Club. He worked obsessively on a 1964 Pontiac LeMans that had been in his wife's family since brand new. He restored it to almost stock condition, but passed away before the car could be in it's first car show. Wife Janette showed the car in the 2024 YYCC / Lucky Dog Casino Car Show and will continue to show it.
William "Bill" Valley
1930-2023
William Robert "Bill" Valley, USAF Major (Ret.), was born and passed away in his hometown of Shelton, Washington. He is survived by his wife, Lorena, two sons and one step-son. Bill taught, coached, designed, and, with the help of great friends, built and operated spectacular and sometimes outrageous and difficult floats that won awards for the Forest Festival at parades throughout the Olympic Peninsula and Puget Sound regions, including LakeFair and SeaFair. Later, Bill enjoyed the honor of riding as the Grand Marshal in the Forest Festival Parade. He was a member of Yesteryear Car Club for many years.
