Yeom Hye-sun, A 16th-Year Professional Setter

Even a 16-year veteran of the pro league is willing to train at night. If the team can win, it can endure the burden. This is the story of setter Yeom Hye-sun, 33, the head of the women's volleyball court.

Chung beat Pepper Savings Bank with a set score of 3-1 25-21, 21-25, 25-16, 25-13 in the fourth round of the Dodram 2023-2024 V-League Women's Pepper Savings Bank held at Chungmu Gymnasium in Daejeon on Wednesday. "It's good to win, but I have to reflect on the fact that I had a hard time leading the team. I'm satisfied with winning the game to the end and earning three points," said Yeom Hye-sun, who led the team's victory.

On the day, five players Jeong Ho-young, Ji-ah, 15; Mega, 14; Lee So-young, 10; and Park Eun-jin, 10 scored double-digit points. Setter Yeom Hye-sun even distributed the ball to neutralize Pepper Savings Bank's defense system. Coach Ko Hee-jin also said that he wanted to use the center field more, but Hye-sun did a good job.

"I think I got the record because I scored evenly and did a good job. I want to raise my score so that I can score more easily," Yeom Hye-sun said. "I thought Yasmeen would join Soyoung's blocking team, but Lee Go-eun gave me a lot. Actually, I gave her balls that made no sense, but I gave them to her because she scored. Next time, I will give her a comfortable score." 사설토토

Yeom Hye-sun achieved a total of 14,000 sets on the day. Only two players, Han Korean Air and Lee Hyo-hee retired, have achieved the feat in the V-League. "I will do my best until I become No. 1 player," Yeom said.

He has played consistently since his debut in the pro league, but he had a hard time winning the title. The only season he had was in the 2015-16 season when he was a member of Hyundai Engineering & Construction. At that time, he led the team to win the title without losing a game. However, he failed to make it to the postseason yet after moving to Chung.

"I really want to win the championship. Our team is not a team that needs to do well alone. We need to work together more because we can win when foreign players are not the only ones who can score and even domestic players are selected," Yeom said. "After losing the second set, Soyoung said, 'We need to be one team. Let's unite as one.' She said, "If you take it easy for a moment, you can't win the game."

Having faltered in the early days of the season, Chung gained momentum as Lee recovered his condition after surgery. He garnered three wins and one loss in the fourth round. He is moving toward the round goal 5 wins and one loss set by Coach Ko Hee-jin. He recently won three consecutive games to overtake GS Caltex 13 wins, nine losses, 38 points in the third place by a five-point margin. "It is true that the team will become stronger. It is not 100 percent yet. I will win even more," Yeom said.

Coach Ko Hee-jin chose Yeom as his key player even before the opening game. He is armed with skills that he has been selected as a member of the national team, but it is also true that he has ups and downs. Coach Ko has demanded the amount of practice from Yeom, and Yeom is responding by participating in night training as well.

Yeom Hye-sun said, "It's hard, but it's also beneficial to find the timing. It's good to keep doing it even if it's hard for me because I have to make sure I have a good balance to win. I can do night training because I don't have any pain."
