Hello, I am Yeo Li Ying from Temasek Polytechnic

My name is Yeo Li Ying. I am currently studying Food Nutrition & Culinary Science in Temasek Polytechnic. I am passionate about Physiotherapy and Gerontology thus my Guided Learning topic is on Geriatric Physiotherapy. I wish to use this portfolio to display the skills and my learning process throughout this project.

Guided Learning is a module that allows students to embark on their passions aside from their current course of study. Students get to learn to be independent and be responsible for their own learning. This encourages students to step out of their comfort zone and search for resources for their respective projects on their own. This allows students to learn more about their passion and use this module as a platform to credibilise their work and knowledge they attained.

My project aims to encourage and promote the importance of Physiotherapy among the seniors. I plan to research and produce reports to prove the credibility. I will compile visuals and information I attained into the brochures as well as print it out to distribute to residents living in Bedok Central and nursings homes of choice. The brochure consists of some exercises to help prevent potential injuries , maintain and improve muscle strength in seniors to help keep falls and common old age diseases at bay.
