ECO 389: Coporate Finance


Introduction to the main concepts and problems confronted by financial managers in the corporate world. Development and application of tools and methods for financial decision-making and analysis, including discounting and present value; asset valuation; investment criteria; risk and return; risk management; cost of capital; debt and dividend policies; international financial management.

ECO 360: Money and Banking


An introduction to modern monetary institutions and mechanisms, their relationship to the economy, and governmental policies in this area. More specifically, the objective of the course is to introduce you to the set of analytical tools needed to explain the functioning of the banking system and financial markets. This will allow you to understand the scope and limitations of economic (monetary and financial) policy on market economies. We aim to find answers to questions such as: What is money and interest rate? How does the central bank conduct monetary policies? How does the increase in the interest rate affect the economy? What moves financial markets? How does monetary policy affect the economy?
