Yellowstone Forever, in partnership with the National Park Service, honors the deep connections between Yellowstone National Park and the 27 Tribal Nations historically and culturally associated with this land. Recognizing the park’s enduring significance, both organizations have taken steps to strengthen collaboration and representation by opening the Yellowstone Tribal Heritage Center near Old Faithful in the summer of 2022. This center serves as a dedicated space for celebrating and sharing Tribal heritage, fostering greater visibility and involvement of Native communities within the park.
Each summer, the Yellowstone Tribal Heritage Center welcomes artists, storytellers, musicians, writers, and cultural demonstrators from the 27 Associated Tribes to participate in its vibrant programming. From May 25, 2026, through October 3, 2026, selected presenters will engage visitors offering insights into their diverse traditions. Participants receive a stipend, lodging, and can sell their original artwork.
If you have heritage in one of the 27 Associated Tribes and would like to be a cultural demonstrator at the Yellowstone Tribal Heritage Center please submit a proposal by January 31, 2026.
